Excellent. Thank you, Wayward. I truly want to be the very best diver I can be. I doubt that I will ever fall into the ranks of the "once-a-year, on vacation" sort. I am definitely saving my money and will be taking the cavern class as soon as I possibly can, especially with Rick's recommendation as it being one of the "Big Three."

You don't have to go to Ginnie for a caven class. In fact, it's not the ideal place to do it. Too busy. Especially in the summer.

The current president of the Natl. Assoc. of Cave Diving, lives in Tallahassee, and trains on the panhandle. Less driving. Check out his webpage here:

I've known Jeff for 19 years. Good guy.

I plan to take cavern at some point. Right now most of what I want to do is on hold due to money issues. But I do want both rescue & cavern.

I'd like to take cave, but I really can't afford that & my wife will raise holy hell if I try. She's willing to hold still for cavern but draws the line there & at least for now has no interest in taking it herself.

You could take a class with Kenny. He works through my LDS in Ozark, AL. I don't have his number, but you could call Mary at 334-774-3483 to inquire. Kenny Paramore is the cave/cavern instructor.

FIsh,

I do want to say one thing. If you decide to take cavern class, you OWE it to yourself to visit High Springs and Luraville. I would say Wakulla, but that's kinda tough right now. The cave community is unlike anything else I've seen in diving. The comraderie, the politics, the love, the friendships, etc. There is just nothing else like it. Visit the country store in Luraville, and Cave Excursions and Dive Outpost. Go to High Springs and visit Cave Excursions East, Salvo, Extreme Exposure, and Ginnie. Do this at least once during your cavern class. I don't think your training would be complete without taking this step. Obviously, that's just my opinion..
