Why not use the plate you have made as a mold for an Epoxy/Kevlar plate. All the trim and cleanup can be done with your router and some sandpaper. The Kevlar and epoxy resin will be plenty strong enough. With a cheap vacuum bagging system they will look 100% professional.

That is exactly what I intend to do. I will use a vacuum bag to pull it to shape.
