Congrats, that is no small feat when you have already not completed it once. That's when you get more into a mental block than a physical hurdle. Overcoming a mental block is a huge feat.

I bet. I take private classes. so it's not the intimidation of being watched, just a hard hit to my confidence.Congratulations! I also had trouble with the swim test during my initial scuba class. It's intimidating taking that test in front of a group - especially after you've failed it once already.
Well done!
it really was the hardest part LOL. mask skills were, eh, whatever. buoyancy and trim took me a few tries, but got it. swimming 10 laps? the worst. lmaooo.Nice. I know that portion was a challenge for you. You got through it. I expect that will be the hardest portion you'll face in the rest of your training. Build on this success for any future challenges. You've got this.
that's my thing! took swim lessons and all but like, it's not an activity I usually do- prefer walking the hills in town as exercise lol.My son was certified last year at school - his university offered scuba as a class. He can swim but he's never been a particularly frequent or confident swimmer. That swim test about kicked his a**. Came as a bit of a shock when the first thing they had to do was "get in the pool and start swimming".
my instructor and I both think it was a more mental than physical issue. what got me through was not counting the laps, just waiting for him to say I was done. doing backstroke, water kept splashing into my mouth and I had to basically ignore it lmaooo, that part sucked. a mind over matter type thing.Congrats, that is no small feat when you have already not completed it once.
