Will bare my ignorance....'silencer', 'muffler'.... on what part of the compressor? Motor [gas] exhaust? Condensate valves? Air intake? I am confused..a normal state for me.... And does not a silencer/muffler create back pressure?

Thanks....

This is a bit off topic, but I'd like to solicit an opinion from some USUN owners.

I have a Maximator ROB-22 booster (small, compact, 30:1 O2) that I've had for about 6 years, and probably saw 5+ years service from previous owners. I use it to fill my 14CF CCR O2 bottles and top of my 40CF Dil tanks. It's getting a bit reluctant to boost recently and I'm considering service. I'd need to send it in to MaxPro and I'm guessing it will be a minimum of $500 for what consists of new orings, cleaning and lubrication.

An alternative would be to order an XB30, which seems to have better support. DRIS sell them for about $1300 USD.

Do you have thoughts on service and support of USUN? Can you get service kits? Service manuals?

Am I better sticking with the booster I have, or replacing with USUN? I'd likely still service the ROB22, but then sell it off.

My XB30 was new last spring. No issues so far so I can’t comment on service. DRIS doesn’t seem to have a service kit on their website, but dive gear express shows one for $126. They sell it for their DGX-30 booster, but it’s a USUN XB30. They sent me one by accident, but that’s another story. 😂

Every time the booster cycles the drive gas pressure is vented. It’s a loud, sudden rush of air. The drive gas exhaust is circled in red in the photo. Rather than venting through a tiny metal mesh muffler I extended the vent into my garage attic.

Also. This is an air powered booster. It’s driven by a small shop compressor. It doesn’t have a motor - think of a mechanics air wrench.

Thanks...my bad I missed that the discussion was about a booster....got it now....that explains venting it into the attic...

It's cheaper to buy them directly from USUN. You can call them on whatsapp, they're very helpful and responsive (but remember time difference). A diagram/manual is included with the booster that (for me) would be sufficient to service it. It's not that complex.

Great info. Thanks everyone.
