I use my 7 footer to look cool, the chicks dig it too !
I'm serious, I would really like to hear what you breathe on non-overhead dives and why you do it that way.

MASS-Diver:
Have you thread? It's much easier to share air with a long hose. The are easy to deploy, manage, and stow.

ABQ,

Honestly, have you ever tried a long hose? Can you at all see the advantage or do really just think it's some crazy scam that people are trying to pull on you? Sharing air with goofey AIRII is not easy - it's a poor rig for any dive.

Look at my profile, closely. I have used the 7' hose on hundreds of dives. I do not advocate the use of any particular piece of equipment, nor its dissuse. Careful analysis and choice of equipment for each dive profile based on diver/team ability, location, conditions, and training is what I advocate - it's what I teach.

I read your profile, I must have missed it. So, to be clear, you do or do not think that long hoses are for rec divers (the title of the thread)?

I have 7 regs. jonny. I can rig anyway that fits the dive best, the funniest thing about this whole thread is writen on page 9 of my tech manual quote" what the hell are you doing running out of gas" . simply put eh.

all this talk about saving an ooa diver , and not one post about" how not to run out of gas"

I think that the 7' hose can be (is) an advantage for any diver who is trained to use it (self training counts). I do know that it can be to no advantage over a shorter hose in some dive profiles, and it can be a hazzard (like any piece of equipment) to those who do not know how, or can't, use it properly.

Would suck if your Al80 cave pony did that after your back gas was gone, wouldn't it?

Come on......lets take it up a notch, we are the 50th something page here and you come out with. Obviously, anyone can go OOA on any dive.

You still failed to answer the single question, what length is your primary hose in a non-overhead dive?

I don't think that at any point on this forum you have given a single straight answer about anything concerning diving. Do you even dive?
