wow, that made it sound like I'm the only one who advises against this horse hockey, and we all know that's not true. CONVALUTED INDEED

Post it in one sentence. I said that a long hose makes sharing air easier on any dive. I know you hate GUE, I know you are very angry about long hoses, but really - 1 sentence.

nova, do you ever do non-overhead dives?

If so, what length is your primary hose and why?

I was considering going to a 5' primary and a bungeed alternate, because most of what has already been said makes sense to me. After reading all the goofy arguments against it, I'm ordering it today. Lots of good reasons to do it, not one single reasonable argument against it. I'm sold.

Isn't he a solo diver :) But good point, the 7'er is so that most people can share gas swimming single file out of a cave or wreck - but it also works well in OW too for most people - it's nice and long to share air, but still short enough to stow and manage.

One person gets it. 520 posts (and growing) well spent.

DO IT!!!!! I've been pondering the same thing. I'm not doing it to be cool. I'm doing it for ME! And well......just maybe another diver if I help him out with a problem. I started with a BP/W before I even knew what HOG/DIR was. It works, so I now respect HOG/DIR concepts and training. I use a single SPG, working on getting a nice brass one, because it's small and no-nonsense. All of this helps me maintain a nice, streamlined look and feel. Go for it!

It's nice to see it's not just long hose divers preaching to the refusing-to-admit-anything crowd.

I'm glad the message got through to someone, makes it all worth it.
