Love mine. Wife and I both use them. I find kicking into the current easier than other past fins…rotation, stability both excellent.

I’d say over 100 dives on them and looking new.

Ok, pretty to adjust the strap with the supplied tool, well thought out

I’m at the last hole on each side, 6 option combinations.
the disassembled length comes in at under 17inches, I’m thinking I can get everything I need for a dive trip into a standard carryon roller. These may be an “only fin sort of thing. Will weigh them later this morning.

since I use the last hole thought I would see if the old Go bungee would fit and it does, these were available in different colors and lengths and the bungee is smaller making it much easier to pull, don’t yet know if that matters.

on to why I like the design concept, blade angle is more than the Zeagle and a lot more than the Jet, this makes flutter kicking much easier, this should really help with the long kick out on the surface.

Yep, that's why I love them, I do long surface swims to get to reef away from shore.

Not on to leave well enough alone I decided longer bungee would be better for me, so…
took a look at the buckle and saw an opening

You just couldn't leave it alone??
😜

What was the bungee thickness and what is securing the tip inside the plastic buckle?

When I started this diving thing (1971) there weren’t all of these parts and options available, you had to make stuff yourself.

original bungee is 8mm heavy duty solid core, my replacement is 1/4” (7mm) multi strand. Friction holds it in place, not just the sharp bends but the cover cap also adds additional friction.

I’ve been using the old post style buckles from the original nova’s on many different fins for years, also using less heavy duty bungee. Fins don’t need to be super tight.

A lot of my dives are treasure-dives, which after an hour can put you quite a long distance away from the boat. Over time I've tried to remember to do more of a circuit, turning around at 1/2 air, so I don't have to swim back as far. But sometimes you have to go where the treasure is concentrated which can be unpredictable.

The swim-back can be quite long, which is why I've mostly stuck with my basic Seawing Novas, and mostly not used other fins I have.

One heck of a writeup Lexvil! Fins nor masks need to cut off circulation:wink:
