Congratulations! Better find a place/time with not much current or the dive party will be scattered all over the reef! Lol. Love this idea and hope this can come to fruition.

The area out front of Blue Angel is somewhat protected from the current by the stingray pens, but they are only mesh fences; the current flows through them.Blue Angel might be a good spot to do this- they have a very easy entry shore dive, protected area out of the current and shallow depths so people could observe from shore or the restaurant above.
Plus, their restaurant is very good, and you could stay, dive and eat right there! They even have live music a few nights a week, so you would have a built in reception planned.
Having all your guests in dive gear would solve the "object now or forever hold your peace" worries.
