Hello,

I did a search and really did not find my specific question answered and I did not want to revive dead threads. I am having trouble understanding how they are looking at baggage.

Manilla to Cebu
I know one person item/carry on 7kg. No regs in carry on.

32kg checked is included with ticket. Extra can be bought beforehand for a discount or pay approx 4.50 USD/KG day of.
This can be upgraded to:
40 Kg/88 lbs total - $50 round trip add on
55 Kg/121 lbs total - $105 round trip add on
60 Kg/132 lbs total - $115 round trip add on
70 Kg/154 lbs total - $130 round trip add on
80 Kg/176 lbs total - $150 round trip add on

Do they care about the number of bags you check or just the total weight of those bags?
If I have one bag that weighs 32kg and another that weighs 28 kg, would I need to pay $115 round trip?
What if I had three checked bags weighing 20kg each?
I honestly expect to end up having two bags right around 20kg ($50 extra right?). I just want to make sure how they interpret it before I show up.

Thanks for the local knowledge!!!!

Interesting. I found the area you are talking about. here Cebu Pacific Air

I had not found that website before. It seems like they allow another bag every 10kg. so that does answer that question

The table I posted is from Atlantis resort. I have never dove with a resort before that handles all this stuff. We are the kind of people who fly and stay cheap and then dive expensive. A group of people are going so we decided to just go along. Seems like they purchase the 32kg package with the flights they arrange for you.

Last two times I did that route, at least with Atlantis, they weighed all bags collectively before getting boarding passes. Don't remember a limit on number but they charged collectively for the overweight charge.

Actually it said 32kg is the max and ONE bag only.
There is an option for sport gear but does not say anything about the allowance.

PAL is more flexible than 5J

that website I linked when looking what @Centrals said, says that standard baggage is 20kg and up to 2 bags.
the 32kg package is "up to 3 bags with a total of 32kg" I have to assume that is what Atlantis has just automatically included in our price.
It seems like any "sports" baggage allowance is just them allowing you to bring it........... It makes a difference for bikes and surfboards as they are larger than allowable, but I have never had anyone give me a free weight allowance because I am bringing scuba. I think even the bike/surfboard allowance still cuts into your total weight allowance.

I would just call Les at Atlantis and get an answer from him. If you need his info, PM me. When are you going? They look locked down for a long while.

I am looking at Cebu Pacific 25 web site
Hand carry: One bag of 7kg only, separated bags such as laptops, toiletries, food etc is NOT allowed.
Checked bag: One bag of 32kg only, baby strollers and walking canes can be checked in for free
Special sport baggage: 32kg max. of each checked sports equipment.

64 + 7 = 71kg total.

There might be differences between domestic and international flight. You could only find it out when booking flight.

I was trying to book a flight but the web seems not working.

@tridacna I am not the organizer of the trip. I am trying to be a good participant. The leader seems to want to be the contact person as when I asked her the questions she said she would contact the resort. I usually travel pretty cheaply and like to calculate costs vs effort. Joining an organized trip like this is new. I am going to have to accept that it is "easier" not "cheaper". LOL

@Centrals Since they are the ones booking the ticket I do not have access. I also thought of just trying to book a ticket to get more info and canceling before I pay. I just have not got around to it. Thanks

I would have done the same even with an organized trip. Nothing to lose!
Can't remember the last time I had joined one!
I assume the trip to Philippines is at least end of 2022. And please make sure you have GOOD cancelling insurance ie full refund. If your trip organizer is using a agent in USA then make sure there is FULL refund rather than credit or reschedule.
