Checking those out...

Yeah, they're essentially light-duty 490's, in a different color. 1.1 mil thick PVC rather than 1.5 mil. Furry inside for warmth. Nice.

I'll add them to my list.

For what it's worth... Showa's 620 is the same glove with a low-pile liner... Essentially a warm water (or fast-drying) 1.1 mil orange PVC glove. You tried those yet?

I made a video for BARE, showing a few of my recent suit modifications, including the installation "wrist sealless" Waterproof Ultima dryglove rings mounted to a set of Showa 660's.

That's a great video. Did you have to use a seal to line the inner ring with the soft glue-in ring?
There are also triple dipped PVC gloves that are soft enough to use. Most of my dives are in 46-56° so I wear thick liner gloves under the Atlas glove and also enjoy the Atlas type gloves with the thick wool lining, except when they get wet. It takes multiple cycles through the dryer to get the wool dry and not so smelly.

Thanks man!

Yeah, I cut up a set of latex seals that I had sitting around to make the seal. Without some sort of seal in there, I can only imagine that the rings would leak between the hard suit-side ring and the soft ring glued to the suit that came with my SiTech QCS oval rings (which came installed as a factory option).

I simply cut a 1" or so ring off of the latex seals and used that. I probably could have done it easier by installing the seals first, inverting the arms, and trimming the seal with a pair of good scissors... But I wanted to be sure I got the edges of the latex clean and straight.

Diving "sealless" - relying on the gloves to seal - is a sheer joy. Probably 50 commercial dives on them and not one sign of wear. I trust them immensely more than the latex wrist seals that came with my suit... And even more than the silicone wrist seals that I upgraded to later. They leaked less than the latex, but were still quite wet.

Here's another video of yeaterday's work... Barnacles and oysters everywhere, and not a worry in the world.

Another way without a tool. I used to do it this way but the glove would slip from the solid object (desk, table, my knee) when stretching the glove so I began using the clamp to hold the glove on the ring while I stretch the rest of it over,

Thanks for the video. I thought I would never get it but as you said, just stick with it and you can get it the ring over the seal. I did notice that I had a pinch on the pvc of the glove but I think I've kind of massaged that out by pulling on that area and the opposite side of the glove.

Thanks man!

I just got this system (first dry suit for me) and am installing it now. I was thinking of going your and Max's route of "semi seal-less" on the wrists. Just so I understand, you do leave some of the original silicon seal on the inner glued to the suit wring and the inner optima wring to create a watertight seal correct? I took this picture. Did you cut your seal where my pen is pointing to or elsewhere?

I also can see how for how much you spend on this system, I think it would be nice to have a second pair of glove rings for a backup set of gloves or even a larger glove depending on conditions. Have you been able to find anywhere that you could get just some of those rings or even spare o-rings? Thanks!
