This means that the number of tech dives that anyone would do in the Trimix depths (which vary from person to person and agency to agency) will have to be limited for OC divers.

There’s a reason people who tech dive are often older and more established in their careers. Many of us are frugal as hell outside of diving. For a mix with 20% helium it was approximately $90 per tank, $180 per dive. Just for the helium. I get narked bad. Worth every penny to have the clear head.
well, then it's very much worth it to you then. safety is oh-so important and if I didn't have the money to dive safely I'd save it too

Under your # of dives, it says - Not Certified. Are you looking to get into Trimix right after Open Water cert?

no. lol. I was saying if I ever were to want to get trimix at some point in my diving life, its not happening anymore. lmao

wait, I was looking at the wrong post. answer is still no. but I was saying if I had to pay extra for something to be able to dive safe, and it wasn't affordable at the time, id save my money. was talking in general terms

how the hell does anyone afford that? must need a really really good job lol

CCR.

I use about 3.5 cu ft of diluent gas for a 200 foot dive. Assuming a Heliair mix of 10/50, let's just call it 2 cu ft of Helium. Even if you are paying $5/cf for He, it is still only $10/dive.

Before I got into technical diving, I used to look at helium prices and think exactly what you are thinking. Keep in mind that helium was a lot cheaper then. Now I am in it and while trimix is expensive, it does open up some amazing dives for you. It is just not the kind of diving that can happen very frequently.

I've heard rebreathers are incredibly expensive but if used enough save you a lot of money in the long run. sounds true.

Unless you go CCR. That’s next year.

I'll figure it out if the time ever comes for that, then. :)
