I was given three tanks today and was curious if anyone could help me identify one of them. One of the tanks is a steel with a sticker on it that says "New England Divers INC." I can't find any marking saying who made this tank. The labeling on it says

DOT3AA2250
43881
SSGP
10C73+PST

It has a J valve on it. I'm assuming the 73 is the size but it looks larger than the 73's that I have seen. It is about an inch shorter and close to 2" narrower than my alunimum 80. I'm also figuring that the 2250 is the max air fill pressure. If I have figured this correctly or if there is anything you can advise me on this tank , I would appreciate it.

that you are correct in your assesment of the tank, the manufacturer is probalbly none other than Pressed Steel Tanks (PST), which is where my steel tanks came from!!!

:tease:

DOT3AA = Steel (LP)
DOT3AL = Aluminum
2250 = Pressure
10C73+PST = serial Number, 10% overfill rated and made by Pressed Steel.

Just my interpretation of the markings.

The diverlink web site has all kinds of information on tank measurements, markings and buoyancy characteristics.

Hope this helps!
