WarmWaterDiver:You can get a 2 mix TUSA IQ-700 from Scubatoys for less than a Dive Rite Nitek Plus or a DR NiTek Duo - with a better warranty (2 year instead of 1 year) too.
drdiver1952:I believe Suunto also uses a Buhlmann (sic?) algorithm.
WarmWaterDiver:Markdone,
Sorry if I miscommunicated. We have been working toward a dive trip to Bikini for several years now, and I'm quite familiar with the site you posted the link for. I also have a Dive Rite NiTek3, which is now my redundant 'backup' DC.
The TUSA IQ-700, Dive Rite NiTek Duo, Dive Rite NiTek Plus, Apeks Quantum, Apeks Pulse, and Cressi Sub Archimede are all manufactured by Seiko. They all use a Buhlmann algorithm - in fact, the TUSA and Apeks models use more tissue compartments than the Dive Rite models - check the documentation. Or do a search on the board here - it's no secret.
I will be using the TUSA as primary and NiTek3 as secondary when we go there. I have dives with one on each wrist, and the TUSA is more conservative than the NiTek3 - slightly, but it is more conservative - not less. Just the facts.
There have been some quality issues reported with the Dive Rite NiTek Duo and Apeks Quantum, which is why I expect the Bikini site stated previously they have had 'mixed experiences' with the Dive Rite Nitek Duo model, but no posts of such problems with the TUSA model I'm aware of. Of course, I'm sure you saw that note on the site you posted the link to, about the 'upgraded model' of the Dive Rite NiTek Duo being the one recommended.

Hope this helps clarify. No sacred cows - I like steak. Education can overcome ignorance. Attitudes are another matter. An open mind is helpful. I understand some folks who like crow though - just not my cup of tea. To each his / her / its own.
We also plan on Truk Lagoon - having the tech training before we go is our plan - maybe next year. We have our final meeting with our tech instructor scheduled for next week.
