Kevin Lee and Brook Peterson recently earned an incredible honor by having a nudibranch named after each of them. Placida brookae sp. nov., was found and photographed by Brook at Catalina Island. Kevin photographed Placida cf. kevinleei sp. nov., in Kenya. A third nudibranch was named Placida barackobamai sp. nov.,

Molecular species delimitation recovered Placida cremoniana as a complex of four genetically divergent species, further distinguished
by consistent differences in head coloration and radular morphology. As the Mediterranean species retains the name P. cremoniana, the three new species are described here, including an Eastern Pacific endemic and two species that are sympatric across large areas of the Central and Western Pacific. Photographic records and literature reports suggest thatadditionalspeciesmayoccurintheIndianOcean,tropical Australia, and Caribbean.
