Hey my first thread :eyebrow:

Whats everyones thought on the Tusa Platina Evolution BCD? I've worn one and find it very comfertable and it seems to fit all my needs and what I'm looking for, but I dont know anyone thats really using one, so I'd like to get some feedback from people that are already diving with it before I order one. Any problems or issues?

There are actually several versions.. Platina Evolution, and Platina Evolution Cubic. The cubic is the more expensive model. The plain evolution is a nice BC for the money if you want a jacket style BC. Tusa is real good as far as warranty and service (assuming you are buying from an authorized dealer), and really the only thing I don't like about the BC is the velcro weight system. But if you're not stuffing too much weight in the pockets, and you close them properly, it will not be a problem.

I have a TUSA Platina with about 40 dives on it. All but one have been in Cozumel. It has served me very well. My preference is the jacket type and this one has served me extremely well. As for me, it is comfortable and is well made. I also think it will last. I havent had any problems with weight pockets. The manual says to only remove them while its wet. They come out a lot easier like that. The only problem I have had was the tank strap stretched more than I expected when it was new. It needed to be WELL SOAKED before attaching it to a tank. I found this out the hard way at depth on Columbia reef. My personal opinion is the TUSA is a well made BCD and will last. But you what they say about opinions. If it fits you and is comfortable then you probably cant go wrong with it. BTW...it came from Scubatoys.

I plan to buy mine from ScubaToys as well. I've used Tusa gear in the past and certainly have no complainants. I like thier company and products, which is a large reason I started looking at the Platina. And I was planning to just get the regular one, not the cubic. I'm one of the types that like to hear first hand stories and get peoples opinions on a peice of equipment I've never used before. I do like the Jacket style BCDs better and honestly think that the Platina is going to be a good choice for me. Any bodyelse ever had any problems with this one?
