I'm a newbie and looking to buy my first set of fins. I don't want to spend much money for my fins because I'm new to the sport and I figure I will only go diving once or twice a year.
I'm looking @ open heel fins that less than $50 and found these two pairs. Does anyone here have any comments on these fins? Are they good buys?

Don't buy Liberator X-10's unless you have really fit legs and really supple joints. Hard plastic fins like those are a bit too stiff for most people's comfort. You'll benefit from getting a pair of rubber/plastic composite fins like the OCEANIC Mako or TUSA Tri-Ex.
