I just got my DUI last week with a size 15 (U.S.) rock boot. I dove it yesterday with a pair of Turtle fins. About 12 minutes into the dive, both my calfs were cramping just below the knee. I had to call the dive a few minutes later as it was becoming unbearable. It seems the problem with the Turtle fins is that the pocket is too short and too much of my foot is sticking out of the pocket causing me to swim with my toes so to speak.

Are there any fins out there that have a long enough foot pocket so that I can get more of my foot into the pocket?

Maybe the answer is to get Turbo Soles, instead of Rock Boots. I don't know of any larger foot pockets than the ones you can find on Turtles.

The other option I've seen is to get a pair of Converse Canvas Hi-Tops, rather than Rock Boots. They might fit better inside the fin.

That may be what I have to do but I'd rather replace the fins if at all possible.

While the height of the boot is the limiting factor, it isn't by much as my toes are almost to the end of the fin - I don't think Converse hi-tops will work,

If you can hack them, Force Fins are available with gigantic foot "pockets".
They're open toe, so the effort is handled by the part of the fin that's over the arch/instep.

Turtles & Force Fins have the biggest pockets out there, so you might be stuck with having to look for other sneakers.

Are ya sure you even need fins with feet that big?;)

... surgical reduction

If I did that, my nose would cause me to fall over.

You really can't change one part of the system without adversely affecting the whole.
:D

How would you know that since you've never tried?

If loosebits is willing we can hang a counter weight on the back of his head after we work on the feet.

Could work I suppose.
