Wow!

Two summers ago I had a tutrtle charge me off of Islamorada, My friend the boat Capt. told me it happends during the mating season.
I shoed him off by jabbing at him with my camera(Came no where close to hitting him) and got two good shots of him! scary none the less.

If you get a chance to see a Loggerhead underwater you'll see why this may have happened. I saw one so big it reminded me of a VW beetle with a huge beak. It swam perpendicular to me, then took a turn towards me and I got nervous. It just cruised by, but in all seriousness, I am more fearful of a turtle that big than seeing a Bull Shark.
Hope the guy is OK considering he was trying to help the turtles survive.

I heard of a case in Monterey, back in the 1960s, where two fisherman almost died after a loggerhead demolished the rowboat they were in.
