Once you're off Provo, there really is next to nothing for a non-diver beyond reading, sunning & sleeping. No shopping, casinos, nice restaurants or even much sight-seeing. Grand Turk is slightly more happening than Salt Cay, but that's not saying much. Given what your situation appears to be, I'd stay put on Provo.

The Provo walls are more sheer than many on Coz, but in fact there are some stepped areas. As for viz, it was only 40-80' when I was there is this month, much poorer than Coz on balance. However, it should improve to Coz standards or slightly better as the water cools.

Best regards.

I've been to club med turquoise twice, i loved the place : nice accomodations, great nite life (probably the only place in the island where to have some fun), and really nice diving, usually you go for a 2 tanks boat dive in the morning and have the afternoon (and night :) free for all the other club med activities

Tim/Doc,

Thanks for your responses!

What area and place would you recommend staying at in Provo?

Our trip duration is 7 (maybe 10 nights).

Requirements:
1. Must have a kitchen
2. Close to the better dive sites/good shore diving
3. Pristine white sandy beach
4. Close to nice restaurants, shopping, etc

I've done some research and Grace Bay seems to be the happening place but I'd like to do more targeted research and then book the place.

Please do keep in mind (1) my wife doesn't dive, and (2) we ain't rich.

Thanks again,
Kedar

To get all of those, there are no cheap choices that I know of.

Ocean Club & Ocean Club West both have all & are quite nice.

Best regards.

hi doc,

my "requirements" are more like "wish list"...all balanced by $$.

Ocean Club is a bit costly as you mentioned...are there any other choices for around $100/night nearby. i am now looking at condo rentals and they're not cheap either.

the comfort inn suites are not on the beach =(

thanks,
kedar

Yes, mostly right on beautiful sand beach means $$.

Comfort Suites are a very good value, and just a 5 minute walk to a lovely Grace Bay beach. Also less than a 5 minute walk to Caicos Adventures dive shop & few good eateries, like the Caicos Cafe.

Best regards.

I really don't think it is possible to do TCI on the cheap unless you get two or three couples together and rent a house. The only place that you could get everything you are looking for at $100 per night would be on a different island! On the other hand if you had six people you could rent a small three bedroom house for less than $100.00 per night per couple. Even then it would not be on the beach. Good luck!

How much do the inter-island air trips cost? For e.g., from Provo to GT and back.

Depends on carrier, advanced purchase v on-the-spot, specials, etc., but look for ~$120 plus/minus $10.

Best regards.

Thanks Doc!

I tried to check fare w/ SkyKing but their website is pretty lame.

Interisland is about $120 RT to GT. I'll check on others.
