I’ve rented from Poppy for many years, and am scheduled to again in a few months. If there’s ever a problem with her trucks, she and her team are super quick to resolve the issue.

We have used Poppy numerous times in the past. We don't have anything negative to say about her. We've had normal issues - windows stop rolling down, flat, tailgate won't open. Some of those things were not fixable while we had the truck. We've had the occasional issue with her not responding to emails and needing to re-send. Having said that, we would still rent from her had it not been for the family we know on the island (Daniel & Anna) starting their own truck rental business for divers; Bonaire Truck Rental. Prices are basically the same but their quality of trucks, communication, and hands-on service is much better - along with their online presence.

We have used Poppy since 2014 and the only issue was a CD got stuck

Most MC and Visa CC exclude luxury vehicles and pickup trucks. Read your policy. Also, it is not really insurance. You put the rental on you CC. If you are in an accident the cost of repairs is charged to your card. The CC company reimburse your charge. You have to provide them with all documentation, police report, pictures, estimates......

Get into accident, you don't leave the island until the damage is paid. In a rush to catch a plane.... Looks like your staying awhile. Total a vehicle, better have a large credit available.

CDW is also not insurance. It just limits what they can charge you,if $650. So you total a vehicle, it is $650...

All in insurance, you just walk away.
AMEX covers first dollar
