Why weight a dead dog down with a dozen or so bricks? The dog was killed.

Always possible the dog just died and the owners didn't know what to do with it or couldn't afford any other alternative.

Or they were just creeps.

Wouldn't it be more simple burying it?
Or the trash. Or the dumpster. Or in a forest. Or... the possibilities are endless.

Why weight a dead dog down with a dozen or so bricks?
So that it sinks.

People do different things with dead pets. Some people will bury them in their backyard. Some will cremate the corpse and then sprinkle the ashes in meaningful place, e.g., a park that the pet liked. Some people might want to give it a burial at sea. :idk:

Some people do dreadful things to live dogs...and then continue to play in the NFL.

People who have the capacity for cruelty to animals often have the same capacity to be cruel to humans as well. This was a loathsome act if it was done out of cruelty. On the other hand, I have read that drowning is a relatively painless way to go (though I have my doubts), and it may have been a misguided attempt at euthanasia on a budget for a beloved pet. Either way, it would have spoiled my dive and my day to find that.

:crying2: That's horrible! It makes me sick to my stomach. How could someone be so awful!?!? :(

Have you ever dug a grave? Depending on the location the soil can be very difficult. So no, it might not be. And why weigh it down? So it doesn't float and get swept onto shore, thereby making a burial-at-sea effectively useless. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions people...

Perhaps it suffered the dubiety of being born into a culturally motivated unfortunate caste, female.

Or was a Christmas present.

...made me think about human nature...
Am I too sensitive or what?
Nothing human about those actions. No, you're not too sensitive.

Me too. I haven't had anyone dead ever tell me how it felt to go.

Isn't the only thing that matters here whether the dog was dead or alive when dumped overboard? Since we obviously don't know, how can we comment on the owner(s)? To me, if the dog was alive it's an unthinkable act--regardless of the cost of taking it to a vet to be put down, as they should've considered that when taking in a pet--they must've had money to feed it. If the dog was dead when dumped, then nothing matters at all.
