Can front to back trim be adjusted in a BP&W with out adding additional weight and how much effect does moving the wing and/or STA up or down have on trim?

Also how much difference in total required ballast is there between a BP&W and a jacket style.

I presently have 31lbs total ballast on a jacket style and want to buy a BP&W that would allow me 18-20lbs of ditchable weight. I am not sure what size of plate to get and if I need to reserve some fixed weight to such as a channel weight for trim.

Would my requirements be best met by a 6lb plate with 2lb STA or a 9lb plate with 2lb STA?
