We have not had a local case for quite a while. At what cost?

What are the COVID entry rules for travelers to European countries? | DW | 15.09.2021

More sensible approach?

Line has to be drawn somewhere. But how?

It all depends on how many deaths are deemed "acceptable". If the levels drop to flu levels and hospitals can operate as normal, then maybe that's the line.

If you're fully vaccinated and inconvenienced because people at locales want to reduce deaths, then that's really their choice. As you've pointed out, fully vaxxed doesn't guarantee not infected.

It is all depend on what is acceptable by individual gov.
Vaccination is "probably" the best available method to deal with the virus. But there are many who would not agree with it. AFAIK, no country in SE Asia will admit non fully vaccinated person.

70% was the number mentioned by the respective minister in Indonesia. Just have to wait and see what will happen by then.

You do not need to be fully vaccinated to enter Taiwan. PCR test is sufficient to board flight as there is mandatory 14 day quarantine. The issue for entering Bali is that you still have to do 8 day quarantine and the hotel list is mostly 5 star resorts.... Singapore does not allow transit passengers who have been in Indonesia. So even when Bali opens to some countries in October short term tourists will probably not go. For those wanting to stay several months then yes.

SE Asia has nothing to do with Republic of China eg. ASEAN.
Not interested to go there as well.

70% first and then..........no need to jump the gun at this moment :76feet:

Are people allowed to fly direct to Bali from another country?

This was not my understanding from a previous post.

This is obvious that someone did not bother to read the latest information given out by the minister!!!
Why would transit in Singapore has anything to do with access to Bali? Many places have direct access to Bali without going anywhere near the Lion City.

Indonesian government is planning on opening direct flights to Bali and so already has a list of approved quarantine hotels on the island. Seems they want people to stay in places like the Hyatt Hotels and other resorts.

It's all about the money for Indonesia. They do not have the pandemic under control.

It was my understanding that access to Indonesia would be through Jakarta, what's Singapore got to do with it?
