Just returned from Florida flying AirTran and was suprised when my big carry on bag had travel as checked luggage. When I went down in November I had no problems carring this bag. Apparently regs just changed and any bag taller or wider than 24" cannot be carried on.

You may want to check your bags before flying.

On my trip to Guam I noticed the check-in area had a place to measure a carry on bag, if it was bigger then the size allowed then you had to check the bag. I personally like this idea, as I'll sit and watch people boarding the airplane, and some of the carry ons look like small suitcases, then they will stand there and try to cram the bag in the overhead until it fits, and either leave no room for other peoples bags, or the overhead will not close.

You gotta be kidding!!!! I just got back from Florida on the 31st and you could carry everything under the sun on!!!

Suitcases that you could carry a small tribe of pigmies! Four carry-ons! It was unbelievable! The plane was not even half loaded and the overheads were full!!! Spirit charges for all check in so people were bringing everything on with them!!

I hear that they are going to start charging for ALL bagage.
