I just bought a new Transpac II and dove last weekend for the first time with 2x4lbs trim weights and 18lbs on a belt (drysuit). It shifted around all the time and I was almost afraid to could loose it, although it was properly secured at the surface, but underwater it just barely hung above my hips and felt very uncomfortable. All in all, I am not a fan of the belt.
I hooked up my trim weights on both sides to the retainer where the shoulder straps are attached. Is there any other way to attach the trim weights?
As for the weight belt, I want to switch to the integrated weight pockets. I would love to use the Clipper pockets, instead of the bulky weight integrated, but they only hold about 5lbs each. Are there any other 3rd party recommendations?
Where do you keep your weight on the Transpac?
Another thing is that I dove with an AL80. How much do you think could a steel tank reduce my weight?
Thanks
