Apparently there isn't really suitable topics for T2T that aren't best met elsewhere, via another forum, or other media... No conditions need apply, since the need for T2T isn't there.

It seems you're good at finding problems but not so good at proposing solutions; or even at defining what the problem is

As a T2T member, I would like to see the forum become what I imagine it was intended to be - somewhere that input could be sought from a particular group of people on technical diving topics. Clearly that's not happenening to the desired degree at the moment, and it doesn't seem to have happened much in the past either

In my opinion, your "I'm a DIR cave diver & you're not" attitude is part of the problem

Since you see no value in the forum & don't have any solutions to fix it, apart from getting rid of it, why don't you opt out & we'll see if anything changes

As you said, there are other forums & media that meet your needs

I think the idea behind the forum was that people would feel free to discuss what they actually DO in the way of profiles and gases, if they didn't think they were providing a recipe for some untrained person to go and do the same dives. However, I think the membership consists of a lot of people who do things the same way, and a few people who do things VERY differently, and nobody seems interested in a real discussion of what they do or why. Down4fun's thread was a refreshing exception.

My problem with T2T has been discussed, at length, in past threads. Its obvious I had a different idea of what the forum should be, than others. Thats ok with me, I found my solution outside of T2T and outside of ScubaBoard.

I agree, its not happening, nor was it. Its actually happening more on the tech forum rather than the T2T forums.

LOL!!! I think maybe, just maybe, the entire world may disagree with that one.

T2T has the same value as the regular Tech forums, its redundant, but still something to peruse on occassion :P The needs I hoped to get out of the T2T have been met elsewhere, but I'm ok with more of the same basic Tech oriented stuff. I just find it annoying that I have to visit it in two different places when it could all be lopped into a singular section.

If I leave, nothing will change. That could easily be said for anyone else in this forum... none of us are really posting ;)

Ha!! Sorry, that just seems like such a long way from the current reality that it made me LOL. Thanks for sharing the concept though Lynne - that sounds like it would be a really interesting forum

Jesus ****ing Christ, Matt and I actually agreed on a few things :P Mark this day in your diaries people, the end is near. Prepare for the rapture, it's real this time

Aren't we supposed to have redundancy in tech diving?? ;)

This forum is paying off already. Thanks for the tip.

I thought the idea behind T2T was to allow debated by qualified technical divers - without intrusion by unqualified folks. A place where we can have frank and possibly even ground-breaking discussions, without the limitations of the general forums (i.e. no advocation of 'unsafe dive practices' etc etc). Also, where discussions wouldn't get turned into dogmeat because unqualified people would step in and make a hash of things. Lastly, a place of frank honesty, where all present understand that constructive criticism and questioning is a valid part of tech development.
