Did anyone read or see the news about the big huge 1,900lb. tiger shark that was caught in the Cape in a contest....very sad that they are killing these sharks for a contest.
 
There was a thread on this months ago. You should be able to search for it. I believe that it was a mako, not a tiger.
 
No, this just happened this past weekend of Cape Cod here in MA. and it was a tiger shark!

They do that every year....big Shark catching contest.....

Wow! I hadn't heard of that. If you get any info, please post it.
 
On the other hand all the shark carcasses are donated to scientists,very little of them are wasted,the scientists are right there on the dock so when the fish is weighed,its handed directly over to the teams to disect and study. so actually the few sharks that are sacrificed will saw 1000s in the long run
