Perhaps you should just swear off of any foreign diving. That appears to be the common thread to these incidents.

Foreign? You mean like Texas, where you're from? You know the poster's from South Africa, right?

"foreign" is a US military term which roughly translates to "potential targets".

:D

Greece, Mozambique and Thailand qualify as foreign for the OP too, as none of those countries are in South Africa.

Yeah, but Texas would also be foreign for a South African, wouldn't it

Oooooh, my head hurts:coolingoff:

We do track things like this at the TxSA. Good luck getting your next visa.:shocked2:

Actually my last TSA experience in Texas was rather pleasant ... she was cute ... and she called me "Hon" ... :D

Thanks Crowley, that was a great post.

<snip>I also think they are over commercialising the sport of SCUBA diving and some of these "speciality" courses that they have just border on the ridiculous.</snip>
/QUOTE]

I prefer the NAUI approach to training - however attempting to run a dive business with NAUI's lack of commercialization drives me nuts. PADI seem to understand much better what it is to run a dive business. However, they also take a lot more money from the business than NAUI. I wish NAUI had a better commercial head on their collective shoulders and I wish PADI was cheaper to work with!!
