Heck, one of my skydiving buddies was over 70, never slowed him down.
Spending time in the water is great exercise & keeps a person aerobically fit.
As far as the "not about diving" part, you can easily navigate through the forums to find just about anything you're looking for, diving or not. ;)

Welcome to Scubaboard! Unfortunately, as with many things, people come and go. Some happy, some not. Ultimately, the social situation is; show up have fun. As the sponsor and organizer of the Megadives, that's all I look at. Will it be fun for the majority? Great! Do we talk about non-dive issues? Of course! We even have food fights now and then. No matter who you are or where you're from, you can find a dive buddy or just meet new friends. That's the whole reason I make these parties. Check out the calendar. We have 30 divers coming, and at leas as many non-divers, just to have fun and socialize. Then there's the food! BBQ on Saturday!!! Come one come all. This is not an RSVP event. Just show up. We'd love to have you. Again, welcome to Scubaboard!

Welcome to SCUBA Board. There are lots of nice people here to share information with. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Neil, welcome to the ScubaBoard.

Kraken.... I may borrow your wife's line someday!

Neil, Welcome to scubaboard. If you're on the fence about scuba how about taking up skindiving, lot's to see just in that depth range and surface swimming may be just the thing if you feel you need a little conditioning. I'd suggest some brief instruction and getting fitted with good gear that will be transferable to scuba.

A discover dive will get you in the water with scuba gear and set the hook. I'm 25 years younger and chasing the same dream.

Pete
