I will also post about diving as it was one of the dreams of my youth, but doing diving at age 73 is not likely part of my future.

Welcome! I am new too. It is never too late. I once took a 71 year old lady on her first dive. She loved it. The best thing is once you are underwater you are weightless and don't have too put too much effort into it. My father has very bad back problems but he still swims and dives, it's what keeps him going and SANE!!
 
Welcome to the board! We have a non-diving section dedicated to non-diving discussions because the people here become like a family as you spend more time on the board and we have a desire to share other events in our lives with one another. Like the others said, diving is a social sport and the people I have met from this board have been a lot of fun to be around no matter what the topic of discussion. Come on in, the water's fine!
