Looks like I got a little carried away in my distances ... I used MS virtual earth to measure and it was only 500-600 yards off shore (not 1200 ... it just felt like it I guess  )

Yea I don't swim that fast! We did see a coral balloon at about 80fsw but this was in no way a reef. Our heading was 270 out. In the map the purple is halmeda. I'd be interested in going out to about 80 feet and try N/S but more depth is just a waste of time.
Here's a pic of one of the blue-spot urchins you can find out there:

Wow, that's dense halmeda at 85'!

Seriously, that's when you need to slow down and look for stuff like the seahorses, octopi and other things you don't see often.

Aloha All,
I'm a new-b to scuba board and have been reading some old posts and found this post interesting. I dive Airport just every chance I get (70+ dives) with some friends who have been diving Airport for years. We are regulars to the mystery third reef my friends have named it deja vu (why? not really sure). There are several other spots that we go to which all have specific names.

The picture of Kidspot's reef look's like a reef we call outpost because it's kinda out there and he mentioned that it's in about 85'. Couple pieces of whip corrals in the neighborhood I believe.

The third reef is nice, a good size school of pennant fish usually come and say hello. About a month ago we found a 2 1/2-3" Kangaroo Nudi. Killer find!!! It's true it's in 85' kidspot I would add a slight North to that west depending on the current and you should blow right over it.

If you make it out there we have placed a small piece of treasure on top of the reef rock. Which I just cleaned the algae off of this weekend.

Good luck & and happy treasure hunting.....

Welcome to Scubaboard MauiChef - I'll look for it next time I dive there - I should be back on island and diving Airport again in a week or so (been on Oahu all summer working)

Aloha, Tim
