We planned a day of diving on the south side of Palos Verdes while we made a fuel run to Los Angeles Harbor. The swell models were looking favorable but as we left Redondo Beach the wind was already up early this morning. We made a dive at White Point Rock before heading to the fuel dock. Our second dive was scrubbed as we found nothing but white caps all the way home.
At White Point we had twelve feet visibility on the rock, which is covered with a brown scum that has reduced the amount of marine life on what was once a bountiful site. The temperature on the reef was 61° with 70° on the surface.
