I just placed an order and realized I ordered the wrong color for the item. I emailed and they responded within the hour and made the correction.

I've had good luck with them.

What I find interesting is that for all the customer service bashing LP gets this little survey says the majority of us have had good experience.

What's even more amusing is that when JJ started a thread about Halcyon customer service and people talked about their experiences some found it necessary to start a thread about how ashamed they are that anyone would deride Halcyon in public.

Maybe Jep can start a thread about how ashamed he is that some people are putting down LP.

Just kidding folks, but think about the double standard. If the CEO of LP were to hop on here (or maybe s/he already has?) how many people would defend them based on their successful business and many satisfied customers?

The results shouldn't really come as that much of a surprise. We tend to hear more about the problems than we do about good service.

I have made some purchases at LP with no problems as of yet. The money I have saved helped me afford new gear. I think if you know exactly what it is you are looking for LP can be a good thing. Customer service has been very helpful over the phone. Also they carry many things that my LDS does not carry in stock. So it saves me time and money. That said I have still spent thousands in my LDS. If my LDS can meet LP costs or have something LP does not offer I will spend my money local. It's good to shop around and support yourself.

I've noticed that many LDS despise LP because of their pricing. However I've noticed that many of these same shops sell on Ebay at very discounted prices!

I find it hard to believe that their suppliers are unaware.....;)

stay away from joediveramerica

leisure pro and scubatoys are OK:)

I have had several dealings with LP. I've never had a bad experience from them.

The one thing I'm cautious about however is that I'm careful not to go to a dive shop ask a lot of questions and then go buy the exact product the LDS is pitching on line to save a few bucks.

I view it as okay if I do my own research, or decide to buy a different product. I think its in poor tast to wast a bunch of the sales persons time and then screw him/her over by going elsewhere.

When online dealers put all the local dealers out of business where are we going to buy air? Have regulators serviced? How much are we going to pay for air?

to form local clubs, and buy a compressor. We'll have air whenever we want, not just when the shop wants to be open. And it will be cheaper than it is now, especially if we dive Nitrox or Trimix.

We'll buy our own repair kits and learn to fix our own regs. Its about as hard as fixing kitchen faucets. Really. I already do my own; its not difficult, and I can do them when I want to. I also know it was done right. After all, its my butt down there.

Adapt or die. Its the way of the world, and has been since the first single-cell organism swam in the primordial soup.

The LDS is not immune.
