The biggest problem with Scubapro Jet Fins is that the darn things never wear out! Mine were made back in the 1970s and are still going strong. How the heck am I supposed to justify buying new fins if my old ones are immortal?

Yes it's a problem and Jet Fins perhaps define the extreme example of "durable good". I traded a set of Mares Power Plana fins to my instructor for his XL Jet Fins in 1985. He had a few years of use on them already, I've put about 3000 dives on them since then, before switching to OMS slipstreams about 3 years ago when I got my fusion and needed a larger foot pocket, and then Marci started using them. So they've been around but they still look like they did when I got them after being used for 3 years, 27 years ago.

I have however ordered a set of yellow jet fins, so we'll see how those look in 2043 after 30 years of use.

Because you used one to dig the grave and the other you had to hide with the body.

Oh, yeah. An' it's somewhere they'll never find it! LOL

The pair I use to dive with is so old I forget when I bought them, they are the Lightning Jets with the bolt on them so not truly vintage. I do have a spare pair incase a shark finishes off the old ones. I also have some yellow Jets. I wonder if I need a spare yellow pair, hmmm. Jets are timeless, though my old pair is beginning to give out. I see splits in the ribs on the bottom etc. Figure they ought to last another decade still.

Jets have doubled in price in recent years, the spare set new ran 65 dollars. But even at twice that you can certainly get your moneys worth, they are a good investment.

Have you thought about a " Pink " pair?

My guess is they will only look good for a decade or two.

But I'm sure they will continue to work forever.

I got my set and I'm loving them.

LDS clerk mentioned they seem to be out of stock. Wasn't sure if ti was high demand or end of a limited run. :(

I've worn out several pairs. Usually crack the rails..
