out of ignorance (or naivete) what's the difference between a single rig and a double aside from the manifold? are the 1st stages different?

The SPG and bungied backup are run off the left post (left to the user) and the long hose (primary reg) and inflator are run off the right post.

First congrats on passing DIRF.

Second, am I DIR? Depends on how you define it. I haven't done Fundies yet but plan to do it with Martin when I have time. I do configure my equipment in a DIR manner and practice most of the principles of DIR (although I'm out of shape). I do almost all my diving with Tech Asia and they teach and follow DIR principles as do the majority of their customers.

thanks drew! anyway it was my first time in tech asia. took my classes here. we had another chinese dm from hk take the course with me. he was so impressed that he is seriously considering bringing dir to hk and even china. As you mentioned eveyone from tech asia: dave, steve, nic, tex all took the dir classes with martin at one point. and nearly all the equipment i saw was dir compliant.

martin is going to shanghai with dave around september. i think he is conducting dir-f classes there.

DM is definitely in my medium term plans... sayang kasi ang network ko of divers (di pa kayo counted sa lagay na yun)... i mean, if i was able to do the scubaworld project when i had a whopping 9 dives under my belt i will definitely be of a lot more use pag DM na ako (like working on muro-ami and marina type projects)

i really want to do that...

have to take rescue lang muna... and get more dives... useless mag rescue kung ako yung una kong iniisip hahahahaha

and for what it's worth, if i do win that lotto prize i'm taking the IDC na rin... quit my day job, put up a dive-related business or invest in balai or something, live the good life... sigh...
