Thanks for the extra info. Just emailed to get on the 9/8 trip. Any of the rest of you going to hop on board?

Would this be a Saturday only trip (as in Friday travel, dive Saturday, return Sunday)??

$145 is not bad for the boat...and I'm in at that price if we can arrange to keep the other expenses (travel and such) to $150 or so each. I figure $300 or a 3 tank dive weekend in blue water is reasonable. What is the booking deadline?

Dez, I think the beanie and gloves are mine...especially if the gloves are blue-ish with velcro tab. I need them for my trip tomorrow....anyway I can meet you 1/2-way between Denton and you?

Call me at work when you get this, 972-445-5251.

It is a one day trip departing Saturday morning early and returning satuday evening. 3 tanks. I'm planning on driving down Friday night after work and getting a hotel room. Probably stay Saturday night as well and drive back Sunday. I'm willing to share a room to cut costs.

They told me you have to actually call the San Antonio shop to reserve a spot (210) 490-3483. Ask for Brandon - they're open till 7:00PM weekdays - closed tomorrow.

How'd you sneak that last post by me?

Brandon told me we might have a bit of a hassle getting a room. I'm not sure if they do multiples (5-6 per room) on the mainland like they do on the island. It's been a few years since I've been down there. But I'm all for cutting costs.

Guess we'll have to look into what's down there, probably book a room now to make sure one is available. By then we won't have to worry about the vacation crowd as much since school will have started.

Do one of you want to take the lead here and act as the "travel agent" and get everything arranged on a standby basis? In otherwords, find out all the details and then "sell" the spots to us and anyone else who wants to join in?

And if we all travel together, I'd suggest we work out something to ride down there in one vehicle.

I don't know if I'll be able to go. I seriously doubt Michelle and I will both be able to go. Leaving the child overnight or two nights just isn't an option right now. If I can I'll volunteer to drive since I can haul 5 (myself included) and all the gear easily. We would need to leave around noon or 1p at the latest as Corpus is about 7-8 hrs. drive time. I can also get reduced room rates at some hotels.

IMHO our best bet would be to stay in Corpus. Maybe the trip won't fill up before I get the logistics worked out on my end.

They still had 9 openings out of 12 left and since the most they have is 10 opens on any of the boats, I bet Oceans Window is using 2 spots. Actually they only have 6 left now. I already booked and I think BJ & Lynette did too.

Hey Mike - what happened???
