Ok im thinking about taking up tech diving does anyone know the course schedule for becoming a tech diver ?

I went to my dive shop today and the way he talked theres alot of classes invloved just to dive 150 feet

Anything you guys know would be of great help Cya on the bottom :)

What kind of technical diving do you want to do and why? That might help people with the kind of answers they give for you.

Not that TDI has bad instructors, but take a look at GUE and UTD for classes. The instructors are held to high standards by their agency. They will prepare you for demanding diving in the time frame it takes to achieve each necessary level of diving. It will take a couple of classes depending on how you perform in the water.

Why?

(That's the first question an instructor is going to ask you.)

First you need to do Nitrox if you don't already have that.

If you go the TDI route (Not that GUE has bad instructors) you would need to do Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures. These are (ahem) technically 2 courses but are commonly done together in what appears to be a single course. That certifies you to 150 feet.

Be prepared to spend lots of money and understand this stuff can kill you.

TDI.

Nitrox as pre requisite for-
Advanced Nitrox.
Decompression Procedures.
Extended Range, either air, or trimix.
Hypoxic Trimix.

<deleted> Nevermind, off topic.

Good suggestions Kern. Of course it all depends on how far the OP plans to take this and what he/she plans to do with this new-found training!

There may be 'alot'. You may even be required to do more on your own if you can't perform to a cetain level.
