Has anyone ever tried that tank shrink wrap stuff to personalize your tanks? My LDS pointed it out to me on the weekend as an option to painting my own tanks. Just wondering if it's any good.

wouldn't it need to be removed to do a visual inspection of your tank. I could see it covering up potential problems with the tank.

Yes. I hear it needs to be removed for inspections.

Be careful when painting your tanks that you do not overheat them or remove metal via sandblasting or etc.

In general, I say leave them alone unless they are steel and rusting. Rusting steel tanks can be galvanized (metallized, actually) and then hydroed.

Remember, the yuckier the tanks, the better the diver :)

I agree with the rest about the tank wraps, pretty, but not a good idea.
