I had given some thought to fabing up a set of 40 cu/ft triples with two valves down and one up with one as a reserve. I have all the valves, tubing and fittings to do it but never bought the cylinders. I had machined one K valve down to just the base to use in the left cylinder and modified another to accept the tubing fittings for the right reserve cylinder. I was going to raise the left and right cylinders so it would sit on the center one. Still on the bucket list. I don't have to worry about freaking out the LSD, I have a compressor.

This is a set I fabricated using pieces parts from a single J valve and a double manifold and aluminum 30's.

There is a bracket made in the UK for doubles and singles.

FWIW, there are some of the OMS valve protectors available on eBAY (I believe they have been discontinued by OMS). I just bought one and it appears well made out of heavy stainless (looks like 316).

The price is certainly very reasonable.
