Hi all,
I have read many a thread where you talk about Suunto computer failures. I though I might start one to see if we can come up with a common scenario where they fail.
I have read some people who say they seem to fail with the strobe of underwater cameras.
Let me tell you my experience. I was diving in my pool today cleaning off what are probably calcium building in some spots on the pool. I call them warts. Anyways, after 110 minutes in the pool (1 hour 50 minutes) I got an air integration failure on my Vyper Air. I seriously doubt it could have been batteries, because this unit is only 3 months old, and has total of 10 dives on it. It most certainly was not because of a camera strobe. After a minute or two, it synced up again, but then failed again about 15 minutes later.
It makes me wonder - could it have been the length of the dive? Could it have been that the SAC rate was low enough that the computer thought it was getting an incorrect reading? In my case, I was in about 4 feet of water both times that it happened.
Let's hear from other divers of the circumstances where the air integration has failed!
