Steel vs Nylon bands

SS works better. I've broken a plastic buckle before, which made for a most annoying dive day.

Yes, I think the benifits of SS outwiegh the (imagined) drawbacks. So.. SS it is.

Stainless is not necessary but will outlive the band.
Chlorine and abuse kills dive gear more so than salt.
Sewing a buckle to a band attached to a bc is simple for a sewing person but not simple for a simpleton.
