I haven't dove in a couple years, and had my watch tucked away in a drawer, not sure what happened, but I guess some pressure on the band caused it to tear. Doesn't seem like it should happen but alas. Bought in 2013, maybe 150 dives on it.

I'm looking at replacement straps, looks like I can get a replacement Silicone strap for $63 CAD, or a nylon strap for $190(!)?

First, does anyone have any experience with the replacement straps, I don't want to get another silicone if it's going to break at an in-opportune time (ie on the side of a wall that goes 100m down), second, does $190 not seem wildly excessive for a nylon strap? Does it have gold buckles? Would it be better to sell and salvage what I can and get a newer computer?

The silicone ones have a 5 year lifespan at best, they get brittle after that.
