OK, maybe this'll be the incentive to help me lose those "last ten pounds" that I've been trying to get rid of for, oh, years now... count me in!

-Michelle.

I'd like to be in this too :)

I went from 152kg (335lb) to 97kg (213lb), but haven't been able to get below that since November last year (thought to be honest my efforts have been pretty pathetic :)

Wow Rob that is a great accomplishment. 122lbs, how long did it take you to acheive that loss? I weigh about 335lb now, and would be overjoyed at weighing 213llbs. Congrats!

Natasha can I join this fitness challenge?

Yes! adding the three of you now. Look for the new "support" thread tomorrow.
Gary I agree. I think we will weigh in on Tuesday or Thursday ..it will be up to each person to pick either day!

Much as I did so well last year and lost over 25lbs and I have kept atleast the 20lbs off, I am ready to lose that last 16lbs that I need to. I started off the year on South Beach lost 8lbs that I had gained back and am holding at this point. I have added in my carbs and that seems to keep me at a plateau level. So, I am now also using WW flex points to help me get a better control on my portions.

Yes, what has been said about the exercise is so true too, because I have dropped my body fat, even though my pounds have not moved much. I am working out with both strength training free weights, and cardio strength workouts. I am walking atleast 2 miles when I go to the track or on my treadmill. But, over the last month I have begun to get lax in my working out. So, I will join you and start tommorrow.

My regular weigh in day is on Thursday with WW but I will weigh again for this challenge.

Lets Go!

DiverG,

I started my weight loss plan 21 August 2001, and went from 335 to in 285 in 5 months. That was basically 40 minutes of walking (up a damn steep hill) every day and watching what i eat.

I stayed at that weight until January 2003 when I decided to try out a company that supplies all of your lunches and dinners (which is also very convenient). The food they supply is generally very nice, and the quantities are generous. It doesn't make you feel like you are eating like a rabbit :) I am certain there would be very similar programs where you live.

So from when I started that i went VERY QUICKLY from 285 to where I am now. Only excercise involved during that time was my work (most of the day i am on my feet and there is a set of stairs that i go up and down probably about 20 times in a day)

My biggest tip: don't watch what you eat to the extent where you are starting to crave certain things. Eventually you will crack and gorge yourself. If you feel like a chocalate biscuit, have one. It takes self control to limit yourself, but it is better than totally taking every nice thing out of your diet because you will get very discouraged.

An addage that I live by: There are no bad foods, just bad quantities :)

OK Cindy! I've added you.
MY WI at WW is also Thursday.
I think tomorrow will be our commitment day. We'll start a new thread.. adding more people, and tips. Everyone will be sure to be ready to weigh in on either Tuesday or Thursday, and report back every week on those days.

We'll be here for constant support, and for little things like what did you eat today? It helps to write (type) it down.
