update:
i went with an Ikelite and the Sony 16-35mm and a 6" dome, and managed to travel with it carry-on only and fit everything easily into my 17L carry on personal item, with my regulator, clothes, laptop and other gear in my 40L backpack.
very easy to travel light with, unlike what some would have you believe.
happy with the results, here's my first dive with the camera:
i spammed 4k60 for 50 minutes straight with no overheating issues on one dive in warm 30C waters.
the range is pretty good, 16mm is wide enough to capture the scene and 54mm (with lossless clearimage zoom) fills the frame with most macro subjects that aren't super tiny.
