Thats true. I forgot about Manatee. Usually it swamps the head spring, but catfish sink should still be good. Good luck getting in though, as they only let 35 divers in per day.

Park entry? there is no park, its in someone's front yard.

so yes it is open for diving. no credit cards taken $30 fee. bring bug spray
Paradise I know about that. Sorry I misread I was thinking Peacock! Duh

Peacock ain't open

I dove it 9/17/04 and vis was great you could see the trees at 70 feet and it is up about 15 feet. You have to swim all the way up to the head. You also have walk up and back because the swimming zone is close because of high water. Happy diving.

I'd still like to try Morrison Springs out this Sunday. I'll call Vortex and if they are open and I can find a buddy I'll try to make my way towards Morrison. I-10 is out of the question so I think I'll try Hwy90 -> Alt90 -> Hwy29 -> CR184 -> Hwy90(by-passing the bridge across the top of the bay - which is probably out of commission) -> CR81 -> Morrison Sprngs...

Is this a horrible idea? :) I've never been to Morrison, so I have no idea how bad it can get after such a serious storm... If it completely wreaks when we get there, we can always hit Vortex(I'm not even going to make the trip unless Vortex is open), but I'd like to know if you guys think the effort will be a waste of time regardless?

Morrison will probably not be diveable, but if you plan on going to Vortex, you might as well check to be sure.

Just FYI, looks like nearly all the springs connected to rivers in florida are swamped. Isolated sinks like Blue Grotto, Devils Den, Vortex, etc may still be diveable but you shoudl call before heading out.

If anyone goes anywhere and can let me know about the conditions Id be grateful. Even if you know its swamped and can go verify it for me, thatd be great. Pics would be even better! Ive been trying to organize all the conditions reports on my website to make it easier on people to find places to dive, and feel free to submit a report at http://northfloridadiver.net/divesites.htm

Try here at this link also, i have a bunch more on caves if your interested: http://www.cavediver.net/

I have a few buddies that were going up this weekend to dive Peacock, and Ginnie, that are full cave divers, so when they return i'll post what the conditions were. last weekend they didn't, it may have been to storm damage and power issues.

Exactly that. The needed to use water from the sink in a bucket to flush the toilets - pump system But today they were up and running
