Wow! Some one found my blog! Those pictures of the Sommes Sound dive are at the old town dump off Sargent Drive. The dive is fun, lots of golf balls and clay pigeons. Found a couple of old bottles. There is a nice place to get setup and put in right next to the water at high tide. At low tide you have to walk over some big rocks to get in. The bottom is pretty soft; however, right next to the shore there are some cool granite features.

We've been doing a lot of dives with our new dive club. The League of Underwater Superheroes. If you go to the gallery, you can see all of our recent dives. Dive Ed, the founder of the group, runs a dive charter every Sunday morning from the COA pier in Bar Harbor.

Check it out!

The sound was one dive we didn't fit into our recent trip. Next time for sure.

There is a nice wall dive on the other side of the Sound too, over in Hall Quarry. Drops up to 85'.

Sorry, I'm new here so I'll get this out of the way - for these location specific threads if there's already one for a place but it's old, is it better to update it or make another? Figure I'll ask her and maybe be wrong once rather than making two.

Now that that's out of the way, Acadia National Park now has a diving page last updated in 2013. They mention tall tales of an intact wrecked schooner.

In recent news, JJM wants to salvage the cargo of the Delhi near that area

Back to old news: 1893 January-March Lloyd's has this entry:

Anyone seen a wrecked schooner down there?

Did our night dive at Somes for AOW, wicked cool. Out along Schoodic also a nice dive. Other good sites along the mid-Maine coast include Rockland Breakwater, Rachel Carson Salt Pond near New Harbor, Beauchamp Point in Rockport, Owls Head at the end of the Muscle Ridge Channel, and South End Beach in Rockland.
