They were found in the many lakes and rivers we enjoy here in Ontario; as to pics of pre-cleaned botts, yes, I have some, but not sure I have some of these specific bottles - why do you ask, may I ask? Here's a vid of a find...

 
Nice, you're quite the archaeologist uncovering your bottle with sweeps of the hand

I find that discoveries no matter the vintage nor the heritage when cleaned look like
something uncovered from grandpas disused garage, or from the opportunity shop

So perhaps a correct assumption

Yes indeed, I'm pretty careful when excavating a bottle, or anything else I decide to bring home. Here's some more pics of un-washed finds; the interiors are harder to clean, but I have an array of tools & techniques for getting them as clean as possible without resorting to having them "Tumbled." If bottles are held in sand, sawdust or clean muck, they often require little cleaning; other environments can make for a lot of elbow grease!
