@Scuba_Jenny That sounds like some folk religion, mountain man stuff you got there. I wouldn't have messed with it if it was me. That's how you get warts or have your hog take sick.

I'm joking, but less than you think. My grandpa keeps a book up on the shelf of folklore and superstition, and there's a reason for that.

Atomic bomb crater.

Diving off the Saratoga in Bikini I got a little distance and realized the flat sea floor has an edge and drops off. Right where Baker shot was at. I knew the bomb was right there. But get in the right spot and it is suddenly clear that is the crater edge. It's a fairly clear line in the sand once you see it. Otherwise it just looks like the sea bed with a little slope to it.

I found a 3/4 full bottle with a wooden stopper in a few metres deep of water, at an old sea baths in Port Phillip Bay. Found it in 2017, and it's still 3/4 full in 2025. It's probably cordial, not alcohol.

there's a bit of that here in S. Florida with cultures from the Caribbean. I had no idea what it was when I found it. I did leave where found except for the dollar bill. Someone else finished unwrapping it when I visited that spot a couple days later

I was at Blue Heron Bridge and found this paper roll. Like butcher paper, rolled up to about the size of a rolled up t shirt. I started unrolling it, and a dollar bill floated out.. Before I could grab my camera and take a photo, a chicken head floats past! Continue unrolling and there were (dried) beans. I still have the dollar bill. Not sure what to do with it.

The most unique find, a cut off electronic ankle monitor from someone on house arrest. Found on the first reef. Guess whomever it belonged to got tired of being monitored by the Broward County Sheriff's office.

at an old sea baths in Port Phillip Bay.

Magnificent!

Where man, Middle Brighton, I'm going to be there in a couple of weeks, see if I can find the other one

I am based in South FL and there are quite a few dive operations locally, taking many people of many experience levels out into open water, on a daily basis. This results in lots of inexperienced (and usually affluent) divers on crowded dive sites; and they lose things. A lot.

Wondering what others have come across while on a dive? Some of my favorites:

-2300 Lumen underwater fishing light w/ bag & battery adapters
-O.M.E.R. Wolf dive mask
-Oceanic ARID Dry Snorkel
-Antique glass soda bottles
-NOAA Tag/Telemetry Receiver
White frog fish off Palm Beach. 60ft

It's at the end of South Rd, car park to the left as you're facing the bay. Go down the stairs next to the 2nd tall tree from the left end of the car park, to the beach path, turn right, then go down the steps at the first opening. Swim out towards the yellow bouy and you should find pyramids of steel then the pylons of the old sea baths.
