Hello all,

Bummer, I would like to meet some of you folks, but I am only around every other weekend and I'll be home in Wisconsin the 20th. I haven't been diving since I finished a project in Puerto Rico in February. I know I'll be here the weekend before (13 & 14). Is anyone available to teach me the S FL ropes? I need to rent gear and am a fiscal conservative (frugal or cheap :blinkinge ), so I was hoping to find a beach dive buddy.
It also looks like I may be here over the Memorial Day weekend, is anything going on then?

Please let me know if you can help me.

Thanks,

PM sent to Ciret (to keep the hijackings out!!)

Thanks for the "welcome to the board", I look forward to meeting everyone.
Where is the location ??? Directions ???

Sorry 'bout that islandken......We're just a li'l excited :D Welcome to SB and the Florida Conch Divers!

He's right, only 2 weeks left! Some of us need directions..........and some more bottom time! (not to hijack but W. Palm was outstanding yesterday!- Breakers Reef, 78 degrees.....AAAHH! I'll be jonesin' for the next two weeks!!!)

Allright, I haven't forgotten......weekends I'm just actually out diving!! :) So, the expanded list and what we'll be bringing:

KBeck--lots and lots of fruit for apres' dive...pineapple, watermelon, etc.
wharper (Official Organizer....ahem, where'd YOU disappear to....hmmmmm? :) )
howarde/michelle (Official Hosts)--Party Location
SmileMon
Matteo
SFLDiver and Marlie
divesherpa
ReneeC and Hubby
Baitedstorm
scubajenny and HC
dennisW
joeamit
islandken
Scubakevdm +1
scubaguy and scubagrl
L'il 38---paper products
Marvel
Chilly Willy & Fam
OBXDiveGuy

Things to bring (or be)...random thoughts on the Krista front
...a helper with the grill so Howarde doesn't get stuck with that duty and grill utensils;
-hotdogs/burgers
---buns for above
--condiments for above
--other grilling things that you like...beef, shrimp whatever
-bucket of KFC or 5
-desserts---cookies, brownies, more fruit?
--sodas, waters, other beverages
--chips/dips
--your favorite alcoholic beverage
--Trash Bags for easy cleanup
--anything else that will reduce the burden on Howarde and michelle afterwards

And I just KNOW howarde will be forthcoming with directions soon......unless he's gone running screaming to Colorado as the thought of a Conch infestation approaches........... :D

So, we have plan for a sunrise dive (don't ask me what time that is), and 8:30 dive......if anyone needs additional tanks, let me know, I have two AL80 spares that I'll loan.....

Yeah... Kbeck... I don't want to cook on the grill at all... To be honest.

I'll confer with Michelle and show her your list (which looks pretty good)

Did you make it on Excel or something, so each task can be assigned? :D

Directions are SO EASY. I'll post em soon.

I'll bring more fruit and some bottled water. I've got the trash bags covered too. I need a tank, if you don't mind. It's the only thing I don't own (......yet.) :)

Yes... As Marvel and I were saying the other day, as we were hangin on our deck...

Plan on making multiple dives - the deck is 30' from the water and if it's calm, you'll want to spend MORE time in the water

There is a dive shop down the street that can do fills in a pinch.

You can pretty much stay down until your tank is about empty - it's only 18' Max Depth.

Guess what I will be bringing?
The rum tote!!! I will not be taking it home, so somebody will need to step up to the plate and take it from me!!
Also am planning on bringing some sweets, and non alcoholic beverages, and probably some other stuff too. I have an extra AL80 if anybody needs one.

KBeck, I havent disappeared anywhere, just been kinda tied up with some other things. I feel that it is incumbent upon me since I got this whole thing started that I volunteer for grill duty. In addition I will be more than happy to bring a variety of grilliable goods (suggestions and requests appreciated). I would also like to tell everyone that I also have a pair of AL80's and will plan on bringing those with about a 35 mix should anyone be in need of them.
If there are anymore pressing needs for this thing to get off the ground please let me know.

Thanks again to Howard and Michelle for the hospitality.
