Group of ten of us camped out at La Bufadora for four days. We dove with the only dive boat in La Buf- Dale'd Dive the cost was amazingly low ($25 all day). We camped right on the cliff of the beach for 5 bucks a day. The diving was awsome! The Vis was between 80 and 40 feet. The water was cold but everyone in the group was in dry suits except a few and they did not complain due to the fact that the dives were so nice. The current was a strong, stronger than I remember it ever being there. I shot a nice size Sheeps Head-- enough to feed everyone. We eat like kings everynight! A few problems occured- my friend lost one of my Rifes (no biggy I have more)-but all in all we all had a blast!

Hey Joe, did you guys come back on Monday??? How was traffic? I saw a VERY LONG line coming from La Bufadora merging onto the 1 as I cruised by from La Bocana on Sunday.

Glad to hear that you guys had a good time. We had close to 30 people in our group. Great fun! Would do it again in a heartbeat!!!

Take care,

Jan

No trafic to speak of. Made it home in 5 hours.
Glad you had fun

I was on the Peace. It was a 3 day trip, we wound up going to Catalina for 2 days, and Anacapa for 1 day. The vis at Catalina was great (probaby 35-40 both mornings at Ship Rock and Bird Rock). The afternoon sites weren't quite as good (maybe 20 with a lot of turbidity at Eel Cove, Arrow Point, and Eagle Reef), but were still nice. Next time I'm renting a dry suit, the water was pretty cold. Anacapa was cool, there were Sea Lions buzzing us on every dive, and the reefs were nice, too. Bird rock was the best, although its too bad it wasn't bug season. I probably saw over 200 bugs in various crevices over the course of 3 dives. I can only assume that none of them will be there when lobster season opens this October.
